From high school sweethearts to newlyweds in Cabo, JJ McCarthy and Katya Kuropas celebrated their wedding at Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve—zadun los cabos—with an intimate oceanfront ceremony surrounded by 60 close friends and family. Set against the coastline of Los Cabos, this luxury resort enjoys a stunning location in San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur, Mexico, near Puerto Los Cabos, where the desert meets the Sea of Cortés; as the first Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Mexico, it pairs modern architecture with locally inspired décor and authentic Mexican craftsmanship, and the celebration blended understated luxury with personal details that reflected the couple’s story and Katya’s Ukrainian heritage. As a wedding property and hotel, it framed the day with the same sense of intimacy and polish.

Designed by Amy Abbott Events, the wedding featured soft pink and white florals, candlelit reception tables beneath woven canopies, and a fashion-forward aesthetic throughout the weekend. Katya wore a lace wedding gown paired with Christian Louboutin heels, while JJ chose a custom beige suit lined with personal photographs from their relationship. The celebration unfolded over one night as part of a larger destination trip for their guests.
